3.2 Opening An Archive
There are several ways to open an archive:
- Clicking on the Open button of the main window, or selecting the
corresponding item from Project menu. This opens a requester
to select the archive you want to open. Only files recognized as
archives are shown, according to filters specified in the archive types preferences.
- An even easier way to load an archive is to drag its icon from Workbench
onto the Open button, or to the string gadget containing the archive
name, both in X-Arc's main window.
- If X-Arc is iconified, you can also drag the archive icon onto program's
AppIcon. The dragged file will be either open as an archive, open and extracted
or added to the currently opened archive, depending on preferences
(see Configuration/misc).
- Last, you can open an archive by passing its filename as an argument to X-Arc
(if started from shell), or by shift-clicking the archive icon before launching
the program.
